This coming Thursday (10-17-24) I will be attending a concert here in the city with my dad and two of my friends, Claire and Mel. The band we will be seeing is called Carbon Leaf. They are a group from Richmond, Virginia and their music ranges from alt-country to Celtic, and folk-infused indie rock. I’ve actually been listen to this group for my entire life, no thanks to my dad. I have grown up listening to them and have now forced my friends to listen to them too.
Last year we went to see them in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was such a fun experience and as scary as it is to introduce something you love to others, I’m so glad I did! I got to spend time with some of the people I care most about at this point in my life and share in something that is so important to me. To have the opportunity to do it again and be able to see them in Chicago is so exciting and let me say, wildly more convenient. Though, going to Ann Arbor was a great excuse to visit Mel’s Family!
Through out this post, I am including photography done by my dad. You can find his other Carbon Leaf and non Carbon Leaf photography on his Flickr page and his Instagram, of which I will link at the bottom of this post. And as for the rest of the post, since I can muster up the ability to type any more words, I shall just share some of my current favorite Carbon leaf songs and more of my dad’s photography. I guess this can become less of a life update/band appreciation post into more of a Dad appreciation post. Oops.
